So Your Computer Is Giving You Problems?

It happens to us all. Our much loved Windows PC is getting to be a bit of a pain to work on lately. It seems to be running much slower than it used to and it freezes a lot.

A lot of things can cause slow computer problems. One of the most likely is just a shortage of memory for the number of programs you are trying to handle. If you have less than 1 gigabyte of RAM in your machine it may have a tough time keeping up with some memory guzzling applications. This results in slow running as the computer uses some of the hard drive to supplement RAM when needed. The solution to this one is pretty easy--just add some more RAM.

You can add RAM yourself if you know where to go inside the computer. Be sure you buy the right type of memory sticks by looking them up in your computer manual or checking the ones that are in there already. If you have say 500MB of RAM at present upgrading to 1 Gigabyte will not cost all that much and will make a big difference to operation of the computer. You can have a computer repair shop do it for you if you don't know how to do it yourself.

In my next post I will discuss some more reasons for slow running and what you can do about it.Take a look at my Hub Page for more information about fixing your slow computer:Computer Runs Slow
